This typically happens if a document has a table of contents. ![]() Incidentally, large changes made in the beginning of a document before it was scrolled to the current position and then typeset cause jumps which are unavoidable. I do not know exactly why my fix works, but several users have confirmed that it does. After that, typesetting will cause the undesirable jump.
